Brandon Stanton

The nature of news is that people only hear about certain events, certain people, certain lives. In a world where so many people feel obligated to know every detail about events that the worlds media seems so eager for us to hear about you rarely hear people taking time to actually consider a different point of view. Brandon Stanton lost his job and moved to New York (typical story-nothing media worthy) and in doing this became a street photographer in many of New York's most dangerous neighbourhoods. He started a blog; again, nothing noteworthy and started looking at people and talking to people about their everyday lives.

Brandon Stanton is now news.

By doing simple things, such as talking to people on the street whom he's never met before. Because this is so out of the ordinary he has made the news. Listening to the stories of average people with average lives may actually be more important than seeming "up to date" on media stories to get a view of the world.

Different points of view make interesting reading;
